“…little wonder that Montenegro is fast emerging as a hot market for property buyers.”

Writing in the   Times   overseas property pages, Peter Drennan investigates the reasons that Montenegro is quickly becoming one of Europe’s property hotspots.

Added to the country’s existing treasures –  “spectacular medieval towns and a pristine Adriatic coastline”, plus  “some of the cleanest air in Europe” –  Drennen discovers world-class resorts, including the  “much anticipated new town”  of  Luštica Bay . Here, he says, this  “authentic town will offer a Gary Player-designed golf course, world-class marinas, five-star hotels, a wellness centre, restaurants and nightlife venues as well as residential neighbourhoods.”

Drennen lists the  “unique advantages”  that only add to Montenegro’s appeal – including the use of the euro, the buoyant rental market, the long Adriatic season, and the simplicity of regulations surrounding land ownership among them.

Noting the  “steady inflow of high net worth individuals” , which can  “only be good news for investors in property , he concludes:  “it seems unlikely that Montenegro will stay hidden for long”.
