This past weekend saw the Bay of Kotor become inundated with catamarans, sailing boats and 200 participants taking part in the second  Diplomatic Regatta , organised by the Diplomatic Regatta Club.
Sailors braving the rain and high seas included ambassadors, politicians, investors and other members of the diplomatic corps who all threw themselves energetically and sportingly into the competition. Despite the rainy start, the sun shone through, spirits were high and the regatta was a great success with Team Portonovi taking first place.
The regatta was followed by a well-earned celebration, the ‘Captain’s Dinner’, which was held in the ballroom of the  Regent Porto Montenegro . Rounding off the evening and the weekend’s festivities was a lottery for a  Rolex  Submariner watch, the lucky winner being Team Luštica! The team, however, decided to kindly donate the timepiece for auction in order to raise money for the Lahor sailing club in Kotor.

The event sees the promotion of the region as an ever more popular sailing destination, while showing off our beautiful coastline and stunning waters – but hey we already knew about those!

What a perfect end to another lively summer season!
